Production

Production section is the main engine of the organization in manufacturing traditional medicines and commercial products.The production is managed by the Pharmacist. Segregated storage areas for quarantine, raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials are maintained for each of them with In charges to manage them.

Quality Assurance & Research

Department is the backbone of the company which ensures that the products and services of the company are as per the regulatory requirements and market authorization. The Department continuously assesses, monitors and evaluates products, services, procedures and systems in our perpetual effort to produce only the best products that are fit for intended purposes.

Corporate Service

The management and operation functions of MSPCL other than production and quality assurance, which are divisions on their own, are grouped together under the Corporate Services Department. It includes the office of the CEO, administration, human resources, finance, procurement and marketing divisions.

Traditional Medicine

Traditional medicine was first introduced into Bhutan around the 17th century after the arrival of Zhabdrung in 1616. Tibetans had always referred to Bhutan as Lhomenjong, or the valley of medicinal herbs because of its fertility, mountains, and varieties of medicinal plants that are found at different altitudes ranging from 200 to 7800 meters above sea level.

Herbal Product

To support sustainable rural livelihoods and to contribute to the conservation of bio-diversity in the country, nine nature-based products were launched in Thimphu. The products include anti-wrinkle cream, massage oil, soaps, and hand sanitisers developed from herbs such as Zingiber cassumunar, Phyllanthus emblica, Rhododendron anthopogon and Sapindus rarak.

MENJONG SORIG PHARMACEUTICALS was then functioning as Pharmacy unit as a cottage manufacturing facility after the establishment of Hospital in Kawangjangsa, Thimphu in 1978.

The Pharmacy unit for Traditional Medicines was established in 1982 through World Health Organization
